“Chitthi aayi hai”: Diasporic Sensibilities, Memory and Nostalgia

Nostalgia has been a popular concept deployed to examine diasporic narratives. This paper is an examination of the song “Chitthi aayi hai” (“the letter come from homeland”) film Naam (1986) looking at how nostalgia constructed and recreated. The about ‘a homeland’ gesturing pain, memory, what lost being achieved in hostland. Through scholarly references nostalgia, Bollywood music theory, this study focuses on role function Indian narrative practices.
